One-year summary of the project of planting 10 million trees in Ben Tre province

On the afternoon of May 10, 2022, Ben Tre Province held a Conference “One-year summary of the project of planting trees in Ben Tre province and implementation the plan that perform a project in 2022” in Provincial People’s Committee Office.
Chairing the Conference were Mr. Nguyen Minh Canh (Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ben Tre Province – Head of department:); Mr. Doan Van Danh (Director of Department of Agriculture and Rural Development – Deputy of department:); Mr. Dang Duc Thanh (Chairman of the Board of Directions of Green+ Group – Deputy of department:); Mr. Nguyen Van Tam (Deputy Director of Department of Construction – Deputy of Department) and the attendance of representatives of leaders of departments, agencies, offices of Provincial Party Committee, Ben Tre Provincial Police, Military headquarters, Border Guards, The State Bank of Vietnam Ben Tre branch; Representatives of business leaders; Representatives of leaders of unit under the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ben Tre province…
After 1 year of implementing the project, as a result, 1 million trees have been planted throughout Ben Tre province, specifically: Ben Tre city (planted more than 19,300 trees over 1m high such as: Hopea odorata (Golden oak), Dipterocarpus alatus, Nacre Tree, Giant Crape-myrtle, Cassia fistula Linn); Chau Thanh district (1000 trees including: Hopea odorata (Golden oak), Giant Crape-myrtle); Binh Dai district (over 3,200 trees including: Hopea odorata (Golden oak), Dipterocarpus alatus , Nacre Tree); Giong Trom district (over 1,600 trees: Hopea odorata (Golden oak), Dipterocarpus alatus, Nacre Tree); Ba Tri district (nearly 8,000 trees including: Hopea odorata (Golden oak), Dipterocarpus alatus, Nacre Tree, Cassia fistula Linn) Thanh Phu district (over 2,500 trees including Hopea odorata (Golden oak), Dipterocarpus alatus, Nacre Tree)…
Attending the event, CEO Dang Duc Thanh shared: “Always responding to the call of President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Vietnam plant 1 billion trees in 5 years (2021 – 2025) to live together and adapt to the climate change, actively protecting and improving the living environment. Importantly, the project not only stops at the number of planting 10 million trees in Ben Tre province but also spreads the tree planting movement throughout the provinces and cities across the country. Because planting soil with tree – afforestation, protecting green living environment plays a very important role, both an urgent task and a strategic meaning for the development of the people, the country and all of humanity today and in the future”.
Also in the project, the People’s Committee of Ben Tre province awarded certificates of merit to 4 units: 1/ Green+ Group; 2/ C.P Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company; 3/ Nippon Paint (Vietnam) Co., Ltd; 4/ Thorakao Co.Ltd – for its contribution to the Ben Tre Provincial Tree Planting Program in 2021.
