According to the project management board, from 1993 to now, the average height of Vietnamese youth has only increased by 3cm, about 10cm lower than international standards and lower than the average height of most countries in the Asia. Developing physical fitness and human stature is a huge problem that takes a long time and requires a synchronous combination of many solutions. According to the experience that has been summarized in many countries, the factors that directly affect the development of human stature and physical strength, nutrition accounted for 31%; exercise and sports account for 20%. Thus, it can be said that nutrition and exercise and sports play a major role in physical development and human stature.

The overall goal of the project is to assess the current situation and implement intervention models on the physical health, mental health and well-being of students in high schools and junior high schools in Ben Tre and Ho Chi Minh City.
